Introduce... The World's Newest Mobile OS by Alibaba (What!??)

Well, this recent years may be a good year for Smartphone, since it wasn't dominated only by Nokia's Symbian, the world was introduced by successfully Apple's iOS, followed by uber popular Google's Android and last and unfortunately the least, Samsung's Bada. Yet now, Mobile OS will have wider variety of Choice after Alibaba officialy introduced their Alyun OS.

Well, it is not too much of surprise if many of you never heard of this company, Alibaba is a huge Conglomerate company from China which specializes in Internet market. And know it seems they are rather interested to explore the world of Mobile OS. But actually it is a surprise that they actually develop their own Operating System. Just for you to know, Alibaba's Initial Public Offering is the largest in the internet Company history in the world second only to Google (Enough to give you impression that this is not some bootleg company,eh ?)

Aliyun OS will apparently be "fully compatible" with apps from Android through a proprietary Waterloo-style emulation layer. I don't know exactly how that'll work, let's just wait for official Demo. I'm also interested in the firm's tightly-knit cloud services, with users receiving 100GB to store their "contact information, call logs, text messages, notes and photos" -- accessible from both PCs and Aliyun-tooting handsets. With future plans for tablets and "other devices" in the works, coupled with incessant hinting from Baidu, those of you hellbent on fierce OS competition might want to consider relocating to China. But Alibaba itself said that they didn't plan to to enter phone manufacturing sector on its own.

Well, if you look at the screenshot above, the UI is pretty much similar to iOS but they use proprietary from Android. Much like crossover of iOS and Android. Not a bad thing perhaps. Of course the UI is still more beautifully polished than shabby Symbian.

And if we talk about the first phone. K-Touch W700. K-Touch W700 itself is not a new phone. The phone has been release before around May using Android OS. The W700 packs an NVIDIA TEGRA2 Dual Cortex-A9 processor at 1GHz, a 3.8-inch capacitive touch screen with 480x800 resolution, 8GB ROM and 512MB RAM, 32GB SD card storage, 100GB cloud storage, a 1500mAh battery, a 5MP front-facing camera (says 30 on the website. xD) and a 5MP rear camera with 720p HD video recording, and supports 1080p video playback.

Well, at this point we can only hope the best for this OS and actually they deserve a praise for their courage to enter OS market since it has been in long rivalry between iOS and Android.
